The CHER Diabetes Education Center provides pre-insulin pump training, initial pump hook-up and ongoing education. Our certified pump trainers work closely with your physician for insulin adjustments and to relay progress updates.
An insulin pump is an insulin delivery device used in place of multiple daily injections. The pump is worn by the patient and assists the patient with the calculation of insulin needed based on predetermined goals for blood glucose levels, insulin sensitivity and carbohydrate intake. The pump automates the delivery of insulin based on input data from the patient.
