The CHER Diabetes Education Center is a community-based outpatient education center for people living with diabetes. Accredited by the American Diabetes Association, the center is staffed by Registered Nurses, Registered Dietitians and Certified Diabetes Educators who work with you to meet your patient’s needs. There are locations throughout the city including on the north side, south side and Spokane Valley locations.
The Center offers comprehensive diabetes education for groups and individuals, such as:
- Diabetes self management education
- Blood glucose monitoring
- Flexible meal planning
- Physical activity
- Medications
- Behavioral changes
- Insulin management
- Insulin starts
- Insulin pump therapy and instruction
- Insulin pump upgrade
- Continuous glucose monitoring
- Pre-diabetes (referral not required)
- Gestational diabetes
- Medical nutrition therapy
